In the end, the three of them agreed that Kona would pay them rent for Troy living upstairs.

No sooner than the agreement had been reached, Kona began to have second thoughts about her boy toy, for suddenly she felt that she was supporting him, and besides, she wasn’t the settling down type. In the end, Troy’s stay in the apartment lasted only a short while, as Kona ultimately kicked him out from the frustration gnawing at her insides during their cohabitation.

She needed him to take her to pick it up. They had one last dinner together before she made her way out of New York and westward. They said their goodbyes, and Kona even called Johnny a couple of times from the road. He was going to miss her, but he knew he’d see her in a few months.
